We deliver welding specialisations and some certification programmes by distance learning through interactive materials. The IWE and IWT follow the current IIW guidelines IAB-252 and IAB-195, and practical exercises take place in the welding shops and laboratories of the Institute.

The materials are available from home on a computer, tablet or smartphone. Besides text and images they contain video content and quizzes. Tutors help with the study materials by email, phone or video conference; technical staff help with technical questions and the administration with everything else. A chat room is available for exchanging opinions.
Because candidates learn from home when it suits them best, they are away from work less. We were the first in the region to offer welding specialisations by distance learning.

Part of the programme takes place in a classroom and a laboratory. Most of the theoretical part is delivered by distance learning, while practical exercises take place in the welding shops and laboratories of the Institute.
Tutors help with the study materials (email, phone, video conference), technical staff with technical questions and the administration with other matters.
For the IWE, IWT and IWS the exam is written and oral after each module. For the CIWE, the exam is taken online.
The IWE, IWT and IWS are available in English and Slovenian.
