PED NDT by distance learning

Annex I, point 3.1.3 (NDT) of the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU states that personnel who inspect pressure equipment must be certified in accordance with the standard EN ISO 9712.

About the course

The Welding Institute is the EU notified body no. 2042 for pressure equipment and as such covers the field of certification for the PED (Pressure Equipment Directive).

After acquiring basic NDT knowledge under the ISO standard, you need to add the knowledge that relates to European regulations and the specifics of inspecting and testing pressure equipment.

Personnel who want to be certified for the pressure equipment (PED) field as well must, besides the requirements above, have at least 60 days of work experience in this field, confirmed by the employer in the certification application.

The exam, which contains questions on the basics of the NDT method for which certification is carried out and above all topics from the previously studied material, is taken at an authorised examination centre. You can receive the certificate in paper form.

At present the NDT – PED course is prepared in English and Slovenian (translations into other languages are in preparation).

Important: the NDT – PED certificate does not replace the ISO 9712 certificate but requires a valid ISO 9712 certificate as its basis. The two validities are linked, and the certificate is valid only when both valid certificates are presented together.

Price

The price of training and certification per candidate for obtaining each title is EUR 290, when it is carried out as part of regular training in NDT methods.

The price covers the costs of education, material, exams and issuing the e-certificate.

Certification scheme with details: on request, info@i-var.si.
