Who needs a knowledge refresher for the CIWE?
Under several guidelines, directives or with very demanding suppliers, certification of the acquired knowledge of the welding engineer is usually required every three years. Current knowledge of those responsible for welding is mentioned in the standard EN ISO 14731 and is the basis for quality in welding production under EN ISO 3834 and for welding steel structures under EN 1090 and the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).
What is in the material?
We prepared material on news in regulations, technologies and materials. We shortened the material so that it is understandable and readable. We renew it every year so that it is always up to date. It includes all the requirements identified by the European Federation for Welding and, in addition, the requirements of our experts.
How do the education and the exam work?
The lectures cover 25 to 30 pages as distance learning. The exam is taken by distance learning. You can receive the certificate in electronic or paper form. According to the Institute, we were the first in Europe, and the first member of the International Institute of Welding (IIW), to carry out certification by distance learning.
How much does CIWE by distance learning cost?
The price per candidate for obtaining the title is EUR 250.00 without VAT. The price covers the costs of education, material, exams and issuing the e-certificate. Issuing a paper diploma costs an additional EUR 15 + postage, issuing a stamp EUR 65 + postage.
