How do I obtain a brazer certificate?
Certification of brazers and brazing operators takes place to the standard SIST EN ISO 13585:2024. There are no entry restrictions regarding the candidate’s qualification; you can apply at any time at the VARcert examination centre. The theoretical part of the exam is not compulsory; if you request it in the application, at least 60% is required to pass. You take the practical part in the presence of an examiner, and the test samples are examined by the Institute’s accredited laboratories. If you fail, you can repeat the exam within three months. The certificate is valid for 5 years with confirmation every 6 months, provided you have not interrupted brazing for more than six months. Scheme: DP-201, annex 1f, rev. 23 (PDF, in Slovenian).
