What is the CIWE and who needs it?
Certification is an assessment of the applicant’s current professional competence. It is based on the IIW or EWF qualification, appropriate professional experience, the scope of welding-related tasks and responsibilities, and evidence of maintaining and updating professional knowledge. Certificates are issued in English and are internationally recognised within the IIW system.
Companies use it to demonstrate the competence of staff carrying out welding coordination tasks under EN ISO 14731 and to ensure the quality of welding activities in connection with the requirements of ISO 3834.
