Welding and cutting procedures - WPQR

For over 60 years, due to our expertise and price-quality ratio, we have been the leading organization in the region for the certification (attestation) of welding procedures for the following joining methods:

  • electric arc welding with a coated electrode
  • electric arc welding in protective gases TIG and MIG/MAG
  • powder arc welding
  • flame welding
  • flame brazing
  • plasma welding
  • electron beam welding
  • laser welding
  • connecting pipelines by pressing (press system Cu, INOX and galvanized steel)
  • joining of plastomers

First, with the help of more than 20 international welding engineers and technologists of the Institute, the client chooses the most suitable certification process for their needs and capabilities and fills out the application. As part of the certification of the welding process, a practical test is carried out under our supervision. According to the pre-agreed standardized method and method of joining in production, test samples are welded, which are properly tested at the Welding Institute in our own accredited laboratory in Ljubljana or Maribor. In the event that the requirements of the standards are met, we issue to the client an approval of the welding process (certificate) based on a report od the testing of test sampless. The validity of the approval is determined by the standard.

CERTIFICATION OF CUTTING PROCEDURES

The procedure determines the method of checking and confirming the suitability of the cut surfaces during thermal cutting and the evaluation of the results. The starting standard for qualification is EN 1090-2:2018, which in the annex (Annex D) specifies in more detail the tests that must be done on cut surfaces. Measurements are performed on the test samples, which are qualified into classes in accordance with EN ISO 9013:2017. The required class depends on the implementation class (EXC1 – EXC4) of the client and is given in EN 1090-2:2018.

Confirmation and qualification of cut surfaces is carried out on the basis of measurements:

roughness measurements of RZ surfaces; hardness measurements HV 10; squareness or skewness tolerances u.

The procedure for certification of the welding process and cut is detailed in the diagrams accessible below.
