Aims and Objectives:
The objectives for this project have been defined as a way to solve the main problems the proposal seeks to address. Specifically:
1. The lack of an APL system that can efficiently satisfy market needs and there hasn't been any prior assessment of the possibilities of prior learning systems recognizing non-formal and informal learning in welding;
2.In terms of actual workers, these lack the minimum academic studies to fulfill the usual requirements for professional certification as EWF welders;
3. Consequently, there is a serious lack of motivation for disadvantaged workers to seek further qualifications, through the "regular" channels. Therefore, an alternative solution to this can be the way forward.
In this sense, the project has a set of specific objectives, in order to assure the successful implementation of its main objectives:
1. Development of an integrated, modular APL system, capable of providing necessary qualification to those workers whose own individual work experience should be recognized to certify them as welders;
2. To take into account individual needs of partner countries, in terms of welder certifications, while at the same time trying to find ways to effectively harmonize the system under development, thereby maximizing its impact on the welding sector;
3. Promotion of higher degree of employability for older workers in the welding sector, and encouraging their requalification as welders;
4. Ensuring the proper recognition of the system to be developed for the project with the EWF training, qualification and certification system;
5. To ensure that the development of the new APL process is in line with the European Qualification Framework and the ECVET;
